Mitali Bhawmik:(Vocal)

Was featured vocalist in Mira Nair’s   movie “ Namesake”. She learnt Hindustani vocal music at a very early age from Sri Ajit Dutta. Later on she received  further training from Shri Biren Phukan and the noted vocalist Srimati Meera Banerjee. She was under the tutelage of famous violin maestro Padmabhushan Pandit V. G. Dr.Manohar Apte: On Harmonium:

A practicing physician for over 35 years, Dr.Apte was a family physician at Tampa VA
Hospital and former chairman of the Board at the university of Akron and Northeast Medical University. For the last 8 years, he has been a student of the Pt.Jasraj School of Music and has  been an excellent harmonium accompanist to many vocal artists.

Rajesh Bhandari (Tabla):

Rajesh started studying tabla at the age of nine at the East Indian Music Academy in New York from Pandit Ravideen Ramsamooj. He studied tabla, harmonium, and Indian vocal for four years. He has had the privilege of accompanying many artists of several styles of Indian music including devotional,

He has had the privilege of accompanying many artists of several styles of Indian music including devotional, folk , semi- classical and classical. For many years he has extended his music to many other genres and collaborations with other artists including Hip-Hop, Jazz, Fusion, Latin and African.

The Association of Performing Arts of India is a federal exempt organization 501(c)(3)31-1613301 founded in June 1998. All our committee members and Board of Directors are working as volunteers. Our goal is to promote Indian classical music and dance through lecture-demonstration and concerts. There are classes given in sitar (a stringed instrument), tabla (Percussion) and dance (bharatnatyam). We are located in Pembroke Pines, Florida.
