Chris MacVittie and Daya Rawat are the singer-songwriter duo better known as Chris & Daya. What they deliver is a classic folk sound, reminiscent of Jack Johnson meets Simon and Garfunkel with a touch of Emmylou Harris. Their songs and harmonies have an accessible country feel, combining a timeless musical quality with heartfelt, resonant storytelling.Though the pair first met in their teens, they each pursued separate musical careers for much of the past two decades, finally coming together in 2015 to realize their undeniable musical chemistry.


chrisanddayamiami2015-4063Chris is originally from Boston, and had recorded two albums under the name The MacVitties, titled Not What You Think and Love Letters. Chris recorded and performed them with his father, Fred, the two connecting over great harmonies and a shared love of The Beatles, Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills & Nash. Love Letters reached #26 on the Folk-Roots Radio Charts, and spurred several years of live shows in the New England area.

A world traveller, she pilots multi engine planes, and as the President of the Prem Rawat Foundation is a passionate activist for peace and human rights. With a long history of session work as well as live performance, Daya’s sultry, silken vocals can be heard on many albums for a long list of artists.

envyChris & Daya’s debut release is called Envy of Stars, and since its release in 2015, the two have been busy touring and promoting it at venues all over the North America and Europe. Some gig highlights include playing the Performing Arts Center in Hollywood, Florida, a Peace Day Festival in Lucerne, Switzerland, the Millennium Hotel in London, UK, Hunter College in NYC, eTown Hall, Boulder, Colorado, the Bastyr University Chapel in Seattle, Washington and LION D’OR in Montreal, Canada.
